History of Dolní Domaslavice village [ History ]

The village originated at the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries. The first mention comes of the time round 1305 when Dolní Domaslavice appears in the Bishop tithes register. In the time of the high feudalism both villages called Domaslavice - Horní Domaslavice and Dolní Domaslavice- formed one village. Towards the end of the Hussite Wars the village as the alod belonged to some noblemen of the Těšín Principality. Dolní Domaslavice presented a colonizing village with not very large extent and not too big number of country farms.
In the Middle Age the village was subordinated to the presbytery at Horní Domaslavice since the half of the 14th century.

In the 16th century it was owned by the Tluks of Tošanovice, round 1565 by Jakub Tluk of Tošanovice.

During the holding of Adam Scipione of Kretčín in 1619 the village had 38 residents, out of them 14 gardeners, 6 cottagers with agricultural lands, 4 cottagers, 3 hereditary millers and 1 rental miller, 3 craftsmen and 1 publican.

After the death of Adam of Kretčína the farm was in hands of his widow Kateřina Marklovská, later married to Jindřich Rudzecký of Rudz. Toward the end of the 17th century the farm was in hands of Václav and Rudolf Pelhřims of Třánkovice, who owned it already in 1717. Dolní Domaslavice, held then by Rudolf Skrbenský of Hříště, had according to the Karolin Land Register 19 farmers, gardeners and cottagers, incl. 1 publican, 2 mills with assembly, 48 cows and 6 pigs. To the demesne there belonged 7 ponds, farmyard, garden, pub, 24 cows, 1 pig. 7 cottagers owned 9 cows.

In 1731 Jan Filip of Saint Genois bought Dolní Domaslavice and Dolní Volovec from orphan Max Gottieb Skrbenský of Hříště. In 1735 Jan Filip of Saint Genois sold the village to Antonín Václav Harasovský of Harasov, who connected Prostřední Domaslavice and Volovec to it. In 1775 the farm was held by Jiří Ohm Janušovský.

In 1770 the farm Dolní Domaslavice belonged to Ohm Janušovský and it consisted of Dolní Domaslavice and Horní Volovec and Dolní Volovec.

At the beginning of the 19th century they spoke Silesian-Moravian dialect at the village. Dolní Domaslavice had then 41 houses and 278 inhabitants.

In 1836 František Knězek, a purchaser from Nový Jičín, owned the estate. There was a Trivial school with 356 pupils at the village.

Dolní Domaslavice received the contemporary appearance in 1957 when Žermanice dam was constructed. In this way the village belongs to the oldest ones in the vicinity of Žermanice dam, that originated from a great part of the former village.
